Goodbye Pennsylvania

So Eli, Gabriel and I moved to N.C. We drove out here on Sept 14 and I started work on the 15th. It really stinks being without Brian, essentially I am a single mom and that's much harder than it looks! I really admire single moms and the people who have husbands deployed overseas. In some ways I will really miss PA. We will miss our family and friends the most but PA is definantly the weirdest place I have ever lived.

Top 6 things I like about PA
1. Friends and family
2. PITT BEEF BABY
3. Fall season is breath taking
4. The honor system, everyone grows something in their yard, they have a cardboard box for you to put money in.
5. Lots of cool stuff is within a reasonable driving distance. Gettysburg, D.C. baltimore, the beach. The hood...you know all the cool stuff.
6. My babies were born there

Top 5 things that stink about PA
1. Peanut butter everything.... who puts the PB in the BAKING isle? Its just wrong.
2. Fudge is Peanut butter unless otherwise noted. What?! I thought fudge was chocolate???

Here is the definition of FUDGE:
–noun a soft candy made of sugar, butter, milk, chocolate, and sometimes nuts.
Do you see PB anywhere in there? yeah, I didnt think so.

3. People are not very friendly unless they already know you. I would call it 'private' except they want to know everyones business, they just dont want to speak directly to you and instead prefer to ...whats the word? gossip?

4. What is up with the roads? I would like to know how many sets of shocks and struts people in this state replace in comparison to other states? I mean seriously, the pot holes are huge.

5. The roads change names at least 3 times so its confusing when someone talks about rt 74, carlisle road, main street... you get the picture.

Gabriel is now reaching for stuff and batting at it. Its really cute to watch him develop his motor skills and have to swing his arm 4 times before finally being able to grab something he wants.

He smiles all the time as long as he is fed. If he gets hungry he gets pretty mad.

Eli wants to hold gabriel all the time, he just wants to be around him. He talks to him like they are the same age, as if gabriel can be reasoned with. Its pretty funny. Eli also has to introduce gabriel to everyone we meet. He is pretty serious about being gabriels right hand man.
Sometimes he growls at his toys. If they dont get in his mouth fast enough or if he drops them. Its hilarious when he grabs something, swings it wildly and smacks himself in the face. I cant stop laughing long enough to console him. I am such a terrible mom.

Weirdo place, I agree! I do miss friends and you guys, but not for long because you will all be here soon. PA is beautiful in the Fall, but why does everything and everybody look so grungy?
